Our new kid on the block. A tropical oddball. Chucked to the brim with fruity and piney hops. With and emphasis on to the brim: 3 basic hops and 3 dry hop sessions make this one a character to be reckoned with. With 6.0% abv he’s the charming older brother of the Levensgenieter. This party animal makes the scene wherever he appears: the Juicy Joker.
Hops: Cascade, Idaho 7, Magnum, Talus.

Can, 6.0%. Good fruity aroma. Juicy with a touch of bubble gum. Cloudy dark orange colour. Big white head. Fizzy, but seems fairly stable. The flavour is fruity, but a high carbonation washes away most of the subtle nuances. High bitterness for the style. I had hoped for a bit more.

Can. Color: Hazy orange golden, white head. Aroma: Hoppy, tropical fruit, sweetish. Taste: Quite dense body, tropical fruit (pineapple, guave, mango), sweetish malty body. Over moderate sweet, moderate bitterness. Over medium body, just below average carbonation. Well,, final verdict...: This one is pretty hard to rate for me. Nothing special as a NEIPA, quite sweet, but in one way or another I quite like it.

Op tap bij Faber, Nijmegen. Mistig goudgele kleur, witte kraag. Fruitig, licht harsig, dennen, redelijk bitter, herbaal. Lichte body. Had er niet al teveel van verwacht, maar smaakte me prima.

Pours a very murky dark yellow/orange colour and a dense, rocky and sticky off white head. Aroma's: dank-ish and yeasty. Retronasal: sweetish, yeasty, somewhat old? Flavour is moderate bitter and light sweet. Light bodied. Finishes with a short but firm earthy bitterness. Juicy?

Many-hopped hazy IPA with malted wheat and oatmeal, from the Kompaan guys. Many thanks to Hinke! Thick and frothy, busily cobweb-lacing, egg-white, bit irregular but tightly knit head, slowly breaking over a cloudy pale orange-hued peach blonde robe, as good as opaque from the start. Aroma of orange pith, pomelo, kumquat, pine needles, granadilla, cake dough, wet biscuit, sweet red onion, hints of pineapple, guava, maracuja, moist white pepper and wormwood leaves. Hop-fruity onset, again citrusy with pomelo, grapefruit and some lime, green mango and unripe melon, some granadilla for an extra juicy tropical accent too but not overly fruit juice-like, with finely tingling, minerally carbonation and soft, fluffy body; biscuity malts in the middle, even with a slight toasty-bitterish edge, soaked in citrusy hops with clear 'old school' piney and oniony side effects - the pine even becoming quite pronounced in the end. Some tropical aspects appear (mango), but the citrus peel and pine prevail, even adding a long, drying, wormwoody bitterness; at the same time, though, the juiciness never goes lost and continues unabated through this persistent, characterful hop bitterness. Something very guava-like lingers retronasally. Excellent postmodern IPA: it may look like a NEIPA and it clearly does have certain 'tropical fruit' traits, but the overall flavour profile leans more towards old-fashioned West Coast IPA, including all that grapefruity, piney and lightly oniony hoppiness I used to love back when NEIPA did not even exist yet. Kompaan very rarely disappoints, if ever.
