Draught! At the Cellar, 1/16/25.
Not sure of clarity. Probably clear. Very dark. Tan head to ring quickly.
Dark chocolate, light prune, light cigar and elegant, deeply but not forcefully-expressed bourbon. Rich malt with a lightly fudgey edge but never sugary. No booze whatsoever.
Soft, silky and gently syrupy. Giant flavors of charred barrel, light oxidation, soft fudge and plentiful bourbon spice. So much going on it's a bit overwhelming. Amazing how intensely malty this is at over four years. Lingering cherry-vanilla, a bit of hazelnut? Spice for days. No heat. Insane balance. A masterpiece as always.

Bottle pour at de Garde 10th anniversary. Black, oily pour, hardly any sign of a head. Aroma is chocolaty, burnt toast, figs. Taste is a sumptuous mix of roasty malts, hot fudge, raisins, vanilla and lots of bourbon. Pretty smooth for the ABV.

Bottle shared at the Chania New Year’s Whale Share, 2022. Black with minimal brown head. Aroma of big bourbon, oak, chocolate, vanilla and caramel. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with a thick texture, alcohol warmth and soft carbonation. Along with 2018 the best of the day!

Draught at OH: pours black with small head. Aroma is loads of bourbon, wood, coffee, vanilla. Dark chocolate, delicate complexity. Alcohol is well covered. Whisky. A little fire. Soft body. Excellent. Lingering aftertaste. What a stout should taste like. hard to Imagine a beer being this smooth and hefty.

Sergey's hunt, tasting at Ryan's, bottle
Pitch black colour. Strong aroma, tar, dark sugar, chocolate, vanilla, alcohol. Thick mouthfeel, viscous; rich chocolate flavour, burnt sugar, high level of sweetness; there's a strong barrel presence, spirit; the alcohol is evident, boozy, seems the right thing to do, a bit of liquorice root.
Wonderful.
