Panda - big thanks to Cloin. Near opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Light palate for the style, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Good dark chocolate malts, if light in the mouthfeel. Dark chocolate ganache into good bourbon, fruity and rich, not bringing a lot of heat. Light semi dry finish. Quite a simple Impy overall but done very well indeed.

Tap at Beer Temple. Opaque colour, not much head. Vanilla, boubon, chocolate in the nose. Medium-bodied. Chocolate, bourbon, booze in the flavour. After 4 years, still quite boozy.

Keg at Craft Metropolis, Penge, 25/10/24. Black with a tan head that thins to a swirl and retains. Nose is fruit cake mix, figs, dates, earthy, old skool impy vibes, modest bourbon. Taste comprises rich roast, coffee, molasses, cacao nibs, dried fruit rinds, spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid fair complex BA impy with subtle barelling.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 19 Feb 2023) Black colour with brief, foamy head. Malty, roasted, vinous nose with notes of black coffee, oak wood, bourbon and vanilla. Malty, roasted taste with sweet espresso, liquorice, soy sauce, bourbon, vanilla, wood and a warming and vinous finish with a balanced coffee bitterness. Full body, sweet. Really tasty and powerful, with a rich bourbon barrel character. Very nice.

Bottle. Pours inky black, small brown head, good lacing. Aroma is woody cacao, tannic vanilla, bourbon. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, faintest hint of earthy molasses. Full body. Touch of heat, but mostly pleasant.

Bottle from Transient. Thanks for the trade Jimi! Pours a deep black with deep brown highlights at the edges and a bit of brown head that dissipates. Lots of oak and bourbon on the nose with light vanilla and sassafras aromas as it warms. Warming bourbon, oak with vanilla and a bit of coffee-like bitterness that hits mid-palate and lingers. Still enjoyable, but a bit of bitterness feels out of place.
