[Gravity cask at beer festival at the Retreat, Reading] Deep pinky-black. Coriander spice dominates totally and utterly. Quite sweet, with a dry, slightly smokey finish. Coriander lingers for a long time afterwards.

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 7 Aug 2007) Black colour with brief beige head. Roasted, fruity nose with spicy notes of fresh coriander and coffee. Roasted, fruity taste with wild berries and spicy coriander notes. Long bitter-sweet finish. Medium body. Strangely enough the balance between cold coffee and fresh coriander actually works. Quite nice.

Cask, gravity dispense at Woodford Beer Festival at The Duke, Woodford, Northants, 25-05-07. Pours dark brown, some spiciness in the aroma which also had a slightly burnt note. Tasted sticky, some toffee, some spices, nice malty balance, very good beer.

Full pint on cask celebrating my arrival from Norwich to the one and only Lower Red Lion in St Albans where the ale was served at perfect temperature and in good condition. Black as coal in colour with a brownish tint when held up to the light. Low brownish foam. Coffeebeans and hints of coriander in aroma. Anise and dark chocolate in taste. Coriander also in a well rounded aftertaste. A rather special, but good porter with medium to full mouthfeel (a promising start to our last drinking days in England, 27.09.2006).

Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans Beer Festival 2005. Dark ruby colour with good spicey caramel and smooth in the mouth. Really quite like it, but not a lot of coriander, definite spicey edge with a bit of bacon?

Sampled cask conditioned at GBBF.
Dark mahogany colour. Herbal aroma (coriander?). Malty and full bodied, but also sweet. Huge herbal flavour that remains until the finish. Low bitterness.
