Cask, gravity dispensed, at the Halloween Beer Festival at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. Golden amber with a thin translucent head; the aroma has a touch of coffee; and in the mouth it starts thin with a coffee taste, and then fils out with some fruity malts; and a dry, lightly spiced finish. A well balanced, classic bitter.

Cask @ White Swan, Hebden Bridge. Chestnut with a bit of a glow and a creamy head. Malty nose with a more nutty taste that lingers. Gritty and tasty at the same time.

Golden-amber, thin head, toffeeish, demerara and sweet earthy notes. Nice, like a strong mild.

Appearance: Clear nutty brown color with a creamy off white head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Fruity, mild roasted malt and caramel malty.
Palate: Medium body. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Very soft carbonation.
Taste: Dominating caramel malty, mild roasted malt and mild fruity.
Overall impression: Dull bitter because of to flat carbonation.
Personal stats: On tap at The Philharmonic in Liverpool, England.

Cask at The Clachan. It pours clear brown with a medium off-white head. The nose is wood, earth, caramel, roasted malt, dark fruit and a hint of smoke. The taste is bitter-sweet, roasty, wood, leather, varnish, caramel, dark fruit and berry with a lingering dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty good depth for the style. Well-integrated flavour. Decent.

Cask @ Lock 25, Edinburgh [250613]
Amber caramel, pillowy dense slight off white head, clear apart from some stuck fine bubbles, good lacing
Aroma - fruity caramel, soft roast, sweet toffee, touch of honey
Taste - Fruity caramel malts. hedgerow fruits, some soft roasted malts
Palate - Medium body, bit oily. Finish quite dry, wave of more berry fruit then a linger dry bitter roast finish, perhaps a tad harsh
Overall - Quite a decent bitter, bit more complexity than usual.
