Can. Black, low dark brown head. Meaty caramel roast and licorice aroma. Medium full dry body, chewy, low carbonation. Salt licorice entry, burnt wood notes, tobacco, smoke. Grilled bell pepper, dry dark chocolate, mostly stays on the spicy roasted and smoked notes though. Intense but with high drinkability, very easy to sip.

Can at home. Looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass deep black, almost no head. Intense malty woody aroma. Starts intense malty, roasty, woody. Stouty. Notes of bitter chocolate, bitter coffee, some liquorice. Interesting cocoa notes in the end, still woody-earthy-stouty-dry. Impressive beer!

Can from Ganstaller Webshop, Hallendorf, Bayern, and consumed at home. Had this Thursday 29th April 2021 listening to three tracks off of the new Squid album Bright Green Field which is released next Friday. Pours black with a mid sized light beige head. Nice nose, burnt toffee, chocolate and liquorice. Really roasty in the mouth, cinder toffee flavours dominate, bitter roastiness, but creamy also, wow this is 80 IBU? I thought that the bitterness was all from the roasted malts but I suspect that the hops are really contributing here also, chocolate and a light vanilla touch, some wheat used here I suspect to add a little to the creamy mouthfeel. This is a masterclass in how to brew a really drinkable impy stout at 12% with no adjuncts, this is so more 'ish' it's a stunner.

Can. Black color with dark beige head. Aroma is liquorice, roasty, rich, but all with a nice balance. Taste is roasty, liquorice, not too sweet, a bit zartbitter chocolate, again with a good balance. Thick oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Very drinkable for this ABV, very good!
