Can at home in Alkmaar, courtesy of someone from the German crew, but unfortunately I totally forgot who. Pours black as the night. Nose is roasty notes, lots of molasses, dark chocolate. Taste is sweet, slightly boozy but not overly so, it’s got lots of dark chocolate and molasses, also hints of dried fruits and nougat, light roasty notes. Closes with a dry, roasty-chocolatey finish, it’s got a full, silky body and soft carbonation. Straightforward and not too complex maybe, but I dig this a lot nevertheless.

Can. Nose is coffee, light marshmallow, somewhat smoky, woody, burnt. Very deeply roasty, smoky, oily flavor with a touch of grape. Sweet at first but finishes bone dry. Oily body. Burnt, bitter, hoppy. A powerful thing.

Black. Aroma is coconut chocolate melasses light coffeee and chalk. Taste is bitter cocoa and coffee with coconut and some spicy hops. Dense and heavy. Not bad.

Can from Erlings Flaskebutik @ Home. Pours pitch black with a small creamy brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, little licorice. Flavor is quite bitter, roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, licorice, light alcohol. Medium body, soft to average carbonation, bitter finish with little warming alcohol. 200622

440 ml can. Murky black with a mocha colored head. Ashes, leather, iron, earthy notes, burnt rubber, cocoa, burnt malt, licorice, robusta coffee beans. Intense bitterness, some boozy sweetness. Full bodied, slick texture, soft carbonated, long bitter finish. Really nice bitter and bold Imperial Stout, alcohol well hidden, nice to drink.

Oily black with a light brown head. Aroma full of dark chocolate and coffee with strong roasted undertones. Taste is a touch dessert-like up front, then turns immediately bitter with a slightly salty or soy sauce diversion. Bittersweet at the finish with lingering chocolate and a bit of alcohol, that latter being the only flaw. Full-bodied, rich, pleasant.

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige irregular head, stable, non adhesive. Aroma: weird, very oxidized, lots of soy sauce, a bit sugary, coffee, dark chocolate. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of alcohol, bitter, very hoppy, bitter, dry roast. Aftertaste: very bitter, hoppy, resinous, dusty, coffee, some cocoa powder.

Can from the brewery. Dark black, brown head, coffee and roasted nose. Flavor is like a coffee chocolate bomb, not overly sweet, great bitterness. Nice complexity. A bit salty-sweet as well. Perfectly balanced! Intensity like an espresso with sugar. Smooth, roasted goodness. WOW tasty.

Burk från Glasbanken. Opak, kolsvart oljig vätska. Massiv kropp, medelsöt men ändå relativt kärv. Kaffe, torr bitter choklad, torv, läder, träkol, tjära och mörka bär. Koncentrad men ändå drickbar utan större motstånd. Bra balans. Riktigt gott.
