Unfiltered and brewed with German malts and noble hops. It is a tribute to Franconian beer history. Originally lagered in caves during the Middle Ages, this style is still hugely popular throughout the region.

Shared 33cl can with Matty, cheers for bringing this to my house: 8th October 2021. Mini haze to the amber body, weak white head. Malty nose and taste, semi-sweet with a hop hint throughout. Decent enough.

Can from Beer52. Another of their fake brewery brands - sigh - but I guess at least it's not a boring pale ale. It's amber with a thin white head and a middling fizz. It's spicy, with white pepper caramel biscuits, mellow candied orange and a little yeasty banana. A light grassy hop note clashes somewhat. The maltiness grows in the drying finish, with a brown bread aftertaste. Was unsure about it at first, but it grew on me as I drank more. It's ok actually; nice to have a malt-led beer for once.

Bit of a strange one this, didn’t know what to expect, but a sweet, fruity and malty amber lager wasn’t it! Slightly cloudy amber with a small, bubbly off-white head and a yeasty aroma coupling fruit (grape and banana?) and lightly roasted malt. Highly carbonated, medium bodied and sweet fruity flavoured, with a tiny hint of hop bitterness towards the finish

Foamy off white head left a creamy cover on a well carbonated, unclear amber body. Malt & fruity aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a nicely carbonated back. Malt, tobacco, grain, jam & fruity tastes with a bitter tangy finish.

[33cl can from Beer52.] Some detective work was needed to find that this was yet another fake name for a beer commissioned by Beer52. (The only clue being a website named on the can - it didn't exist, but it turned out to be registered to Beer52). Otherwise it was an inoffensive kellerbier, but wouldn't excite the fans in Munich.
