This is a rosé - and a gose - by any other name. Goses are Red is a stylish funky, crisp and tart gose ale inspired by the soft sweetness of a rosé wine. The refreshing wheat-based ale begins with some of the qualities you’d expect from a gose, including coriander spicing and a light saltiness to complement the tartness imparted by our house cultures. But the story doesn’t end there - it builds in complexity, thanks to time spent in an oak foeder and the addition of grapes, which impart a refreshing character and color.

Can. Rather thin body, med carbo. Med-high sourness, but very clean lacto feeling, not much actual wildness here. Triggers my reflux, not my admiration though. Simplistic, not even rosey feeling. Average.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Nicely tart and mild to medium sour, mostly red grapes and berries in the aroma, coriander and salt not so much. Raspberry and light flowery, picking up wheaty malt. Medium body. Solid 'Rosé Gose', much better than how it sounds.

Tip Tap draught, 4/20/23. Light pinkish-blonde, small, off-white white head. Tart raspberry and cherry notes, soft oak. Not very saline, nor any herbal notes. Just a fruited sour, it seems, but clean and dry with moderate lactic acidity. Dry, very attenuated with berry acidity but a tannic, reasonably malty texture. Grapes aren't punchy, yet very tart, dry and interesting. Hey, look at the Bruery making dry, not boozey beers!

This is tart! And it was pretty close to exactly what I wanted to drink tonight, I made a good choice! Pours mainly golden, has a hint of pink, but definitely not rose red like others are commenting. In the nose I smell some barrel funk, coriander is a little more present than in most other beers that have used it. Flavor features mainly a really tightly focused sourness, I can taste some lemony flavors, maybe a hint at berries in the periphery, and a touch of barrel funk. The acidity sits somewhere between acetic and lactic. There might even be a bit of tannic and vinous character near the end, though the tartness tends to dominate over any complexity. Very nice light body, dry to semi-dry.

On tap @The Yard House Vegas. Cranberry, jelly haze, mostly still. Cherry-pineapple-watermelon nose. Fruit punch-esque. Taste is bold, tropical, cherry-cranberry dominate. Not too sour. Semi sweet with lime bitternotes. Very mellow hit of vinegar. Fresh & fruity. Nothing too complicated. Thin, pretty acidic but approachable level of sour. Fun.

A rosé red gose with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with dark fruits, big tartness, Epsom salts, light Brett, light lactic notes, very nice. In mouth, tart and puckering, raspberry jam, loads of acidity, Epsom salts, light Brett, challenging. On tap at Barcade Newark.

Tap at Brass Tap. Red juicy body. A pretty solid Gose, leaning deep into the sour tones. Deep and vinous, biting sourness. Tastes delicious but hard to drink much of. Vinegar tone starts to take over.

Pint can from Brewer’s Haven. Pours a rosey hue with a light pink head that quickly disappears. Smells vinous and fruity, a little funky. Super dry and sour taste, very vinous and tart. Refreshing.
