Brewed early in 2017, we have lovingly matured this vintage stout on a bed of winter spices for over 12 months. The beer was then given a further 6 months maturation in our oak casks, allowing the oak to lend its unique character to the stout including hints of vanilla and bourbon.

375ml bottle. Reddish brown-black colour, beige foam head and aroma of fruity cherry, chocolate. Taste is sourish, dark malt, woody oak, with fruity notes, cherry, strawberry hint, dark chocolate, spice hints, with some bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying malty spiced finish. Interesting, quite OK.

Bottle from the brewery. Off black colour with a tan tan. Aroma woody a bit of soya sauce, liquorice. Taste sweet with sour hints. Maybe a bit off.

Bottle, thanks Fin! Dry wooden, dusty chocolate aroma. Darkest brown, offwhite lace. Dry medium dry body, wood, light tart cherry pits, salt peat, chocolate, sherry or wine wood barrels, salt, spice, dry, good balance. Salty finish.

Dark brown. Aroma is cherry ice cream, dark chocolate, some wood, strawberry as well, lacto maybe. Taste is a little sour cherry, somehow dusty, some red wine fruitiness. Still a bit off. Interesting but doesn't turn my knobs.

Green bottle. Dark brown, ancient looking head. Sour musty basement smell. Spicy old cherry-or-wine flavor, this tastes like a beer that has been sitting in Pop-pop's Keller for 30 years. Really interesting but I could see many people not liking this. I could definitely drink a half bottle of it.

Bottle, many thanks to Fin & Loz! Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is dry wood, almost dusty, nutty, light booze, moldy cellar. Taste is lightly fruity, with a sour edge, chocolate, moldy cellar. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Very British, very old school, very decent!
