Low Key is the first Micro IPA from LERVIG. Generously hopped with Enigma, Ekuanot and Mosaic, it’s bursting with all the bright, juicy, tropical character of our IPAs. And with a remarkable body and mouthfeel (thanks in part to thick dose of oats), you’ll hardly believe it clocks in at a very sensible 2.2% ABV. For a low alcohol beer, it compromises nothing one taste, and is an absolutely perfect beer to pair with having stuff to do early the next morning. Low Key confirms the age-old adage: great things come in small ABVs.

6-3-7-3-14 Can, six months before bbd. Pours hazy, very pale yellow, with a creamy head. Aroma is hoppy notes with citrusy lemon and lime, as well as grassy notes, litchi and stone fruit pits. Medium body, with soft to average carbonation. Flavour is bitter citrusy hops with lemon, grapefruit and lime as well as grass and tropical notes of litchi, kiwis and fruity minerals. Nice, hoppy and quaffable, without the all too common low Abv metallic notes. Still somewhat insipid, lacking a bit of depth.

Pours hazed yellow, small white head. Scent is sharp, citrus, very mild. Taste is mostly bitter, sharp, very refreshing. I had hoped for far more complexity and aroma. Malty base is present and good enough, but doesn't shine trough to give an interesting backbone to the beer. A nice, easy drinker for brainless conversation liquid in the summertime. But for those actually seeking a drinking experience, there's far better lervig beers out there, as well as other low alcohol beers.

0,33 boks fra Lervig Canteen, hjemme: blek strågylden med kort bruseskum. Spenstig aroma og smak med diverse citrusfrukter, mango og et hint av eukalyptus i avslutningen. En velsmakend og lettdrikkelig forfriskning, perfekt hvis du absolutt må kjøre bil.
