Twee keer meer cacao nibs, extra alcohol, you do the math.

Can from Deconinck. Pours hazy black with a quickly thinning, frothy, beige head. Aroma of coffee roast, cold coffee, chicory almost, walnut, macadamia, fried mushroom, chocolate powder, prune, dark fudge. Taste has sweet candied date, chocolate & fudge, quickly turning earthy, coffee roast-like bitter with a nutty & vague umami edge. Subtle creaminess leads the way to a dryish, earthy hoppy finish, still distinctly malty, cream toning the 'harsh' coffee roast down, hint of dried fruit as well but with boozy whisky-like alcohol in the very end. Full body, oily/sticky texture, soft carbonation. Somewhat 'all over the place' in its execution but oh so tasty.

Can 330ml (Beerdome)
Opaque colour, small beige head. Strong coffee aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Very little maltyness for this ABV. Coffee dominates, espresso, cocoa, caramel.. hides ABV reasonably well, feels watery. I can't understand 4.00, this is not much to praise about.

Rust/red-shot deep black-brown beer with a shortlived small cream rim. Ash, grit, (cold) coffee, roast. Bitter-ish to sweet, with an outspoken toffee flavour, coffee and again dry grist. Alcohol heightens the sweetness, beer itself has a rather drier character. Very slick; medium to well-bodied, alcoholwarmth. I don't know. All classical Imperial Coffee Stout features are there, but somehow, they don't blend together, they won't fuse to spectacle. Poor result instead.

33cl blik op de trein. Zwart, bruine kraag. Volle body. Mwah.

33 cl. can @ home, gift from Alex and Suus. Pitch black with a very thin beige head. Chocolate and strong black coffee aroma. Sweet taste with coffee and chocolate bitterness. Alcohol is very well hidden, smooth as silk this one is.
