Hazy, lively amber colour. Not much head. Toasty is the first thing on the nose, then it gets more to a generic caramel. The malts are better on the palate, though, the caramel is richer, fuller, then a bit of dryness in the finish.

Tan brown with a large foamy tan head. Caramel, toasty malt, faint fruit and a vegetal presence. Long finish. Medium bodied and smooth.

16oz can from Das Alpenhaus. Dark, clear amber pour, small frothy off-white head settles down to thin silky layer. Sweet malty aroma, caramel, fresh brown bread. Taste is caramel, sweet, pumpernickel. Very tasty, finishes quick.

Canned at OEC/B. United, undated, with Mythos Spezial Marzen as the name, drunk 10/17/23. Clear, deep auburn-amber. Small, butter-colored head quickly to ring. Rich base malt mixing with moderate amounts of specialty malt and light acidity to provide an aromatic, balanced nose. Good mineral, low roast, low hop. Almost a hint of roast with caramel and toffee not too sweet, but nicely rich and malty. Good attenuation. Nicely balanced and drinkable without any overly toasted character or toouch caramel.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, nutty brown with a dissipating off-white head. Nose is biscuity and slightly roasty. Solid malty body, crystal malts and a slightly roasty nose. Subdued bitterness. One of those Märzens that I call a mini-Bock. Very good! 310723

Brewed in Germany, Canned in the US but not dated.

It pours a clear deep deep gold, small head of foam after a vigorous pour, just a ring around the glass now.

The smell is intoxicating with its richness of caramel malt and fresh baked bread. I also get a wee bit of a fruity spicy character.

Holy crap, it tastes as rich as it smells. Loads of fresh baked bread, caramel malt that doesn't go too far with the sweetness. A bit of a spicy fruity thing going on.

The mouthfeel almost tricks me into thinking that this is full bodied because how rich it is.

What a drinking experience. I doubt that I could find a better example of the style!
