The original Motor Oil heatry Russian Imperial Stout, deep black incolo with a strongly roasted malt aroma, this time with an extra bitter coffee taste. Made with a blend of organic espresso beans from Coffee Collective. Coffee origin: Finca Buena Vista, Caranavi, Bollivia, Lusitania, La Isla and Villa Sofia, Planadas, Tolima an Columbia.

C'est un très beau stout qui nous est proposé par Moersleutel sur ce Motor Oil en version double café (Buena vista & Encisco expresso). L'alcool, à 10 % aurait tout de même mérité d'être un peu plus poussé pour contrebalancer davantage la sucrosité. Cela est d'ailleurs le cas sur la version de base. A part cela, en termes d'arômes, d'intensité et de puissance, le stout est parfaitement maîtrisé, gourmand et riche. En verre, nous sommes sur un noir total sans effervescence et avec une légère mousse brune. Le nez est très joli, intense et pur sur le café et chocolat avec un léger caramel. En bouche, c'est intense sans être grossier. Et si l'alcool aurait mérité d'être un peu plus poussé pour contrebalancer le sucre, on n'en prend pas moins du plaisir avec de grosses corpulences et longueurs. Pas parfait mais de très grosses qualités.

Can at home. Opaque dark brown color, full sized thick dark brown colored head. Aroma is malts, soft roast, sweetish coffee, bitter espresso. Flavor is malts, malt bitters, coffee / espresso, coffee roast bitterness. Dark chocolate in the background maybe. At first lacking a bit of oily texture but that gets there after a while. Lingering bitterness and a slight boozy touch in the finish. Quite nice. 9-7,5-8-7-8

Pours like, erm, motor oil, pitch black, and a brown head with fair retention. Aroma's of roasted malt, dark fudge, some red fruit. Retronasal it's coffee, chocolate, roast, fudge, boozy. Flavour is above moderate sweet with a nice roasty bitterness. Full bodied. Long finish, roasty, bitterish.

Can at home, Christmas morning 2021. Pours a thick black oily beer. Aroma is roasted malts and coffee, heady. Taste is slick, coffee, light caramel, dark chocolate, mouth feel is soft and slick, fantastic actually, bitter and well balanced, coffee beans rolled in dark chocolate. Excellent coffee stout

Thuis uit een blik van 44 cl. Zwarte kleur, bruin schuim. Gedeeld met Henk. Stevig aroma, alcohol en koffie. Volle smaak, koffie, zacht, maar toch wel een sterke nasmaak. Prima weer, maar voorzichtig: “het is een gevaarlijk goedje”.

Canned 440ml. -from Ambasada Zagreb. Pitch black coloured, medium sized brown head, coffee and mild chocolate in the nose. Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, notes of caramel and alcohol with bitter sweet finish.

Shared at home. Pours out thick black from the can making it clear how it got its name forming a small beige head in the glass. Aroma of rich coffee and roast, dark chocolate, soy, caramel, boozy alcohol notes and licorice. Flavour is heavy sweet and bitter. Full bodied with a thicker than average texture, alcohol warmth and soft carbonation. As Maarten says, much better than the relentless pastry stuff coming out these days.
