1/3 cask pour at GBBF Winter. Dark amber pour with a small frothy off white head. Aroma features rich malts, mildly sweet, Woody. Taste is sweet and malty, raisins, wooden notes, brown bread with a nice full body and a touch of dryness on the finish. One of my favorites.

Bottle. Beer Central Sheffield. Hazed deep copper with a beautiful soppy glossy pale beige foam. Nose has barley sugar sweets. Robust leafy hop. Rye like malts. Taste is light sweet first up with a big leafy punchy hop bitterness. Slick and well bodied. Fine brisk carbonation. Lingering bitter finish. Class.

Cask @ Petersgate Tap, Stockport. Has a hoppy alcoholic aroma, alcoholic-sweet taste with its strength very evident. It's quite soft textured given the sum of its parts. Dark amber-red with a creamy head.

Cask at the Blue Boar as part of their 2022 North Yorkshire Beer Festival. Mahogany and clear with a small loose layer of beige head. Delicious aroma with lots of molasses, plum, fruited caramel. A slight off-note of cooked vegetables marks the score down that tiny bit. Sweet, warming taste with more molasses, some brown sugar. Bitterness creeping in toward the finish, and it lasts through the aftertaste. Full oily body, minimal carbonation. Very nice barley wine.

Clear dark reddish amber beer, good pale tan head. Pleasant nose of malt and ripe fruity brandy. Palate is fairly light and smooth, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a touch of creamy sweetness. Biscuity malts as well. A nice light nuttyness. The brandy soaked ripe fruits follow the nose, loud and clear. Light finish. Nice. Better than I was expecting. There is some decent malt character here. Could do with a more sumptuous mouth feel but it's a decent barleywine.

Bottle from Belly Rub Beer, Scarborough. Pours hazy chestnut brown with a thin off-white head. Quite low carbonation. Aromas of toffee and marmalade. Taste is boozy fruitcake, slightly nutty, raisins and caramel. Sticky finish.
