Draught at John Scott’s Pub, Göteborg. On September 21, 2012Crystal clear golden color, beautiful build up; nice, thick, dense, lasting white head. Malty, sweet, light fruity taste. Very mild and mellow. Faint fruity aftertaste. Medium to sort of thin or light mouthfeel. Malty, sweet, fruity scent.Nice, subtle, balanced, well made. I can go back to this again.

500ml Brown bottle (best before 26 Oct 2012): poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 30 July 2012. Orangey amber body, clear and bright, thin head once settled: loads of carbonisation bubbles rising through the brew. This is Everards ’Cooking Bitter’ as my Dad would call it: meaning their ordinary or session beer. The nose and taste are leaning heavily towards the hop contents, but without going overboard with the bitterness. The malts are in the background but do show their presence in a warming and mildly sweet way. This is an easy going brew with a bittering twang to it, rather than an out and out hoppiness bitter flavour. Slightly too ’fizzy’ for me: so highly carbonated as the look indicated from the start.

Cask at O’Briens, London. Pours a clear, rich gold with a foamy-bubbly white head. Light toasted dough nose with hints of grain and leaves. Light sweet flavor with some toasty bread, light dough, mild leafy bitterness and faint dry berries. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Basic and fairly bland on the finish with some toasty leaves and faint bread, along with suggestions of apple. Pretty bland overall.

Bottle in the hotel room, Aberdeen. Pours vibrant gold with a foamy, white head. Sweet malt aroma, light toast and caramel. Sweet flavor, bready and slightly aged malts, caramel, mild leafy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet, lightly bitter finish, some slightly oxidised malts, a bit of bread and cardboard, faint grass. Not too good.

50cl bottle from Morrisons. Amber with a loose, rapidly dissipating, white head; stewed malt aroma; weak and watery with over-pasteurised malt flavours; and a dry biscuity bitterness to finish.

Bottle from Morrisons
Light amber...clear...frothy white head...minimal lacing
Aroma - light earthy hop - very little aroma.
Taste - light earthy hop, no malt presence, watery, bland, paper and cardboard.
Palate - soft carb, very thin body, light bitter. Finish - light bitter, minerals, cardboard.
Overall - Must be brewed with hardly any ingredients - bland and watery. Not moreish at all. Might be better on cask.
