500ml bottle bought at Gulating Ølutsalg in Trondheim. The oily pour reveals an espresso bubbly head to a coal black body. Moderate roasted dark malty nose. Flavours of grainy chocolate, coffee grounds, and dark fruits towards the ending. Smoothly roasted. Tasty, easy drinking stout (hotel room 18.03.2015).

33cl bottle from Gulating Ølutsalg, Strømmen. Pours very dark brown with a modest beige head. Moderate roasty aroma with dark fruits, licorice, hint of chocolate, smoke and wood. Medium sweet with mild, but fairly pleasant malty flavours, some slightly sour notes and a fairly light bitterness. Medium body with carbonation on the soft side. Quite pleasant. --- Beer merged from original tick of Namdalsøl Staut on 10 Mar 2015 at 17:57 - Score: 6

Bottle, at Cardinal. A slow gusher, not really problematic, next to black in color and with a dense, dark beige fingerthick head. Some lacings. Salty licorice, bonfire, roasted malts, some cigar, dark chocolate and coffee. There’s not much hoppy bitterness to be detected, some sweetness is present, but it’s mostly dry. Licorice, burnt down bonfire and roasted malts, with a touch of dark chocolate. Medium body, quite dry on the palate. Lasting roasted finish with some yeast. Judging from the three Namdalsøl I’ve now tried, they sure need to get control over the yeast. Else it’s quite nice beers. 140726
