For Vintage Ale 2018 we’ve stayed close to home; all of our ingredients have been sourced from the UK. Tropical, citrus and apricot flavours take centre stage, delivered by Ernest and Olicana hops. Pale ale malt from the finest Maris Otter barley combines with Crystal malt to give the beer a rich biscuit sweetness. As with every Vintage Ale, the flavours of this beer will develop for many years to come, like a fine wine or whisky

[50cl bottle, #071296, from Waitrose, Wokingham. My 7500th rating.] A bright golden amber pour with a thick cream coloured head; usual vinous aroma - sweet sherry perhaps; smooth and thick, coating the mouth with off-sweet caramel, biscuit and some woody fruit; then a satisfying warmth in the finish. Refined and nicely balanced, but no doubt this will improve further with age.

Bottle@Jespers - Hazy orange to amber pour with a off white head. Sweet malty with a nice medley of dried fruity accents, some caramel and fudge notes, medium body, some very nice spices into the sweet malty close.

500 ml, bottle No. 026773, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 8.5%. Tawny colour, large white (or slightly off-white) head. Aroma of dark dried fruits, sultanas, oak and sweet biscuits. Moderately sweet flavour with the same elements, also hints of dried apricots and caramel, moderate hops (Ernest and Olicana, Target, Goldings, Challenger and Northdown). Smooth mouthfeel Very drinkable already, no sharp edges.

Nice tasty evening sipper this one. Nice ruby color with a fine head. Pleasant intensity in the aroma. Oily texture. Dried fruits, caramel malty, bready and some spices in the flavor.

Bottle shared with JMD at JFE at HNB 29.12.18. Clear pale copper amber. Persistent white head. Round aroma and taste of sweet malt, plums, figs, dried berries and sweet malt.
