11 September 2021. At Summer Belgian Beer Geek Gathering. Many thanks, Klaas & Liesbeth, cheers to the whole crew!

Hazy orange, thin, off-white head. Aroma of sour apple, quince, gooseberry, plum, kiwi. Taste has sour quince & plum over funky hay & grass with a lactic edge. Tart, acidic, vinegar-like finish, end-of-stonefruit & plum mixing with lactic acid. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Rather sharp, okay.

This beer is vastly different from bottle, as it is from tap. On tap, it's more acetic, less fruity, and a shade or 2 lighter than the bottled version. This rating is from bottle (more balanced, fruity, tad less acetic) - the version I strongly prefer. Pours unclear, darker amberblonde. Small white head. Scent is very complex, wood, quince and elderflower are very balanced, and all noticable. Mild acetic acid. Taste is strong, tart, malty, very full! . Quince is clear, taking over the initial aroma of elderflower before it turns 'too herbal' for my taste - and thus canceling out my personal negative about elderflower. A nice feature I didn't expect. Lovely, perfect balance, with a tart finish. What a beer !

Draught Small but stable off-white head over dark orange-ochre beer. Faint lactic acid, even fainter acetic, horseblanket (!), farmyard, yellow fruit, fruitacids. Serious acidbite, hint at acetic, lots of lactic. Again green/yellow fruit, and indelible Morpheus yeast. Acidthinning and -burn (gradually growing), fruitslick, dry-out effect. lean. One of the better Alvinnes, but still quite a tad too harsh on the sour side.

10/VIII/21 - 33cl bottle from Beerlovers Bar (Antwerpen) @ home, BB: VII/2026, L20.1151 (2021-756) Thanks to Ben for sharing the bottle!

Pretty cloudy orange beer, big creamy off-white head, stable, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: vinegar touch, fruity notes, very funky, some sharp acidity, elderflower notes. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body even. Taste: bit sweetisch, very fruity, soft acidity, bitter, some elderflower, a syrupy touch, nice stuff. Aftertaste: acidic burn, fruity, bit lemony, very acidic, a bit too harsh on the vinegar.
