22oz bottle (2011 - #4488) received in a trade from Doodler in 2011
Pours near black with a medium sized tan head and some lacing. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, oak and leather. Flavors of roasted malts, bourbon, vanilla, woody with a nice warming alcohol bitterness in the finish
Very nice and smooth, this could have aged a few more years and still be tasty. Lots of bourbon and vanilla.

Damn nice aroma, dark chocolate, vanilla, and sweet bourbon.
Flavor is chocolate pudding, vanilla oak, hints of anise and a nice subtle bourbon heat after the sip. Coffee with sugar. Texture is creamy with the body leaning on the lighter side of medium. The bourbon balances the rich malt very nicely. Quite easy to drink for such a big beer.
Really nicely crafted.

Well done, and well barreled. Bourbon is clearly present in initial aroma but doesn’t take over the beer or dominate. A touch less and it would be perfect. Pours black with good head and lacing. Finishes bitter and a little sweet - maybe that’s the Hatian rapadou. Some booze present as well, and roast malt, dark chocolate. Tap at Rustico.

Bottle, big thanks to Jack at his very own farewell tasting, 06/08/13. Very dark mahogony brown with a small tan covering. Nose is roast malt, bourbon notes, dark chocolate, dark toffee fudge, oaky waft. Taste comprises dark chocolate, treacle toffee, woody tones, bitter cocoa, earthy. Full bodied, fine carbonation, dry roasty finish. Decent work.

Bottle thanks to Jack! It pours darkest brown with a small white head. The nose is earthy, toast, plum, date, caramel, toffee, Scottish tablet and toasty marshmallow. The taste is roasty, earth, plum, date, decent bitterness, big alcohol kick and chocolate. Full body and fine carbonation. Decent, but a bit too boozy for my liking.
