Deadline is our limited release imperial Belgian-style stout aged in bourbon barrels. A blend of classic roasted malts, flavorful Belgian artisan malts, and dark candi sugar create this rich and full-bodied stout. Vanilla beans add smooth caramel notes, accenting the alcoholic effervescence. Conditioning in fresh Kentucky bourbon whiskey barrels contributes to the robust and complex finish. At 14.8% ABV, be sure to savor the experience

Canned 4.26.25, drunk 9/14/25.
Clear, dark. Small, tan head.
Spicy bourbon and definite Belgian phenols with strong caramel, rich oak and punchy bourbon. Not boozey or sugary, yet the bourbon is pretty dry, heavy, somewhat sharp without much soft or deep spice character. Light oxidation and strong Belgian yeast lingering on the finish a bit at odds with the bourbon.
Soft, sweet, not too much so, drying out with heavy bourbon. The bourbon is so-so. Certainly not too oaky/tannic, but kind of mediocre as far as expressive flavor, deep spice, round, soft notes, etc...The beer itself is malty and soft with a good chewiness and no cloying sweetness or syrup. The Belgian character comes through and there's only mild roast, licorice and prune with low vanilla. Probably some more vanilla, fudge, bourbon spice and milder/rounded Belgian notes would make this a bit more approachable.

Can from Tavour. Pours dark brn/black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of dark toffee, cola, bourbon. Full bodied. Flavor is the aroma plus some kandi. Not dry, but not sticky. Bitterness from the malt I suppose. Light wood notes. Heavy duty ale.

Can. Pours clear mahogany, small tan head, good lacing. Aroma is rich cocoa, molasses, hint of anise, earth, leather, charred wood. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter. Full body. A bit less barrel character than i would prefer, but pretty nice.

Enjoyed the Mexican hot chocolate much more, this was alright but the type of bourbon barrel used maybe didn't vibe well enough for me.

12 oz. Aroma has notes of coconut, caramel, oak, cashew brittle, vanilla, Bourbon, raisin, licorice. Pours very dark brown with a small beige head that falls into a ring pretty quickly. Taste is sweet with a lightly bitter edge, finishing dry.

12oz can from Tavour. Almost black pour, ring of beige head. Sweet, boozy aroma. Bourbon barrels are the first thing you taste also. Belgian stout flavors are evident after the big alcohol blast. While this seems to be all about the ABV, there are other flavors (licorice) and textures in there for a layered approach. I'm really enjoying this, and Taxman has been a favorite of mine for their big Belgian ales.
