Bottle shared with the RateBeer Munich Tasting Group, Tuesday 10th December 2019 at Jonas's in Garching. Pours almost black with not much of a head, leather, roasty, liquorice, this is quite something. This is the first ever bottle no:0001 of 1,400. Excellent.

750mL Bottle, number 0001/1400. Amazing sweet boozy roast aroma, hints of sherry. Lingering sweetness the whole way through, raisins, stone fruit notes, very complex, just hints of wood. Really smooth!

Black with light brown head. Aroma is much chocolate and wood sugar with some cherry and kirschwasser. Also toffee. Taste is sweet dark malt juice with lots of cinnamon. Pretty drinkable still. Almost no carbonation. Lacks some additional bitter counterpoint. Good. Rerate with bottle #1: I think its much more cocoa and bitter and therefore more blanced. Went up.

Retired bottle, many thanks Max! Darkest brown color with beige head. Aroma is sherry wood, raisins, a touch ash. Taste is raisins, plums, wood, chocolate. Surprisingly dry finish yet still full bodied. Stollen in the aftertaste. Silky thick mouthfeel, natural carbonation. Gracefully aged, I love this one!

0.25 l bottle (#0993/1400) from 'Biertraum', label says 'Petro Ximenenz' (sic!), bottled in November 2015. Black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty and a bit boozy aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, sherry and oak. Quite sweet, malty, moderately roasty and a little fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, sherry and oak, followed by a long, moderately roasty-bitter, slightly earthy, warming and a little boozy finish. Just over medium-bodied, slightly creamy and a little effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very tasty, superbly balanced BA Imperial Stout, lacks a bit of body though, especially considering the abv. Unbelievably good for a first beer of this kind from such a small brewery!

Bottle at Erzbierschof Monday Club. Sweet candy aroma, a bit like a tripel. Some barrel, pear, Ovaltine. Okay, but nothing exceptional.
