Bottle. Color: Hazy golden, fast disappearing white head. Aroma: Funky, moderate sour and sweet, malty, fruity. Taste: Medium body, soft carbonation. Moderate sweet and in between moderate and medium sour, notes of stone fruit. Subtle vinuous white wine notes. Notes of wood, tannins and some citrus. Barnyard funk. Just under medium body, soft carbonation. Not that spectacular but a well balanced and likeable funky Golden Sour.

0.375 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', bottled in September 2018. A bit hazy, golden amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white layer. Minimally sweetish, sourish, quite fruity and a little funky aroma of lemon, rhubarb, gooseberry, hay and a touch of horse blanket. Slightly sweet, gently sour, rather fruity and a bit funky taste of lemon, rhubarb, gooseberry, oak, hay, a touch of red wine and hints of horse blanket, followed by a short, gently tart, moderately dry, slightly woody and a bit funky finish. Medium body, slightly astringent and a bit effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very pleasant Sour Ale leaning into lambic territory brightened up by some Berliner Weisse characteristics. I often criticized Oedipus for their (kettle) Sours in recent years but I think they have really stepped up their game and grown up. Looking forward to trying more of this series!
