Cask at the Chippenham Folk Festival. Dark brown with a beige head. Smooth, rich mouthfeel. Lots of black coffee. Treacle tart and plain chocolate. A little bit of fig. Just the right amount of roastiness to balance the sweetness. Lovely stuff, liked this one a lot.

Bottle on 20th December 2020 from Advent Calendar. Pours solid sepia black with tan foam quickly disappearing into a thin circumferential ring. Rich and intense coffee and bitter chocolate in aroma. Richly roasty in-mouth with subtle spices. A roasty finish with hints of herbs and roast coffee. Medium to full bodied with an engaging texture.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Drapers Arms, Bristol 19/4/2019. Jet black in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Charcoal, chocolate, liquorice, leading to a dryish finish. Good.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Opaque dark brown beer, decent pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth and reasonably rich dark malts, little dark chocolate and mild smoke. Light earthy coffee. Little tangy dark fruits. Light dry finish. Not bad.
