Murky, brown color and a creamy off-white head. Sweetish roasted malts and missing walnut. MAybe it was too Cold.

On tap at Hopfenreich, Berlin. Black with a small tan head. Sweetish with roasted malt, some nuts, chocolate and light coffee. The body was medium and the finish quite long. A decent one.

Aus der Flasche beim Berlin Beer Week 2015 - Closing Event auf der Baustelle der Stone Brewing Berlin 2015-07 getrunken. Ein tolles IStout jedoch hätte mehr Nussaromen erwartet. Daher ein leichter Abzug in der B-Note.

Brownest black. Aroma is dark chocolate, some leaves, maple syrup, lots of caramel. Taste is much nuts, a bit sour and bittersweet chocolate. Nuts in the finish. Not bad.

Bottle. Darkest brown, golden brown head. Coffee ground, licorice and burned maple sirup nose. Medium light body, quite dry on the palate. Honey, coffee, licorice, honeyroast finish.

Bottle. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, maple, walnuts. Taste is walnuts, chocolate. Oily mouthfeel with low carbonation. I don't like walnuts, and this indeed tastes like walnuts - not sure if I should give a higher or lower score because of that.

(Draught at Hopfenreich, Berlin, 25 Aug 2017) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and walnuts. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, black rye bread, roasted walnuts and a generous cacao bitterness. More than medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well balanced, with a nice nutty character. Very nice.
