Poma Áurea is a totally natural cider, a brut nature in which the carbonic as well as the sugar are endogenic, that means result of their own fermentation process.
The new brut nature of Trabanco is the result of a careful selection of the raw material. For its elaboration are only used traditional Asturian varieties, Regona and Raxao, which ferment at low temperature during several months in traditional wooden chestnut barrels.
Once finished this first phase, a second fermentation is caused, controlled and at low temperature in a contra-pressure tank.
The result: An elegant and harmonic brut nature cider

750 ml corked & caged bottle, as Poma Áurea Brut Nature Sidra de Asturias. Vintage 2018, ABV is 6.5%. From Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. Crystal clear and very pale yellow colour, pours sparkling with a large but shortlived head. Aroma of apples, damp cellar, white bread, a hint of sulphites. Light bodied. The flavour is dry, notes of apples, a hint of sulphites. Refreshing, must also be good with food.

750 ml champagne bottle 2018 edition. Christal clear, pale golden body with almost no head and champagne type carbonation. Aroma of green apple and yeast with a hint of sulphur. Taste is dry, acidic apple, some yeast and mild apple peel. Medium to thin bodied and a bit short in aftertaste. Mild, refreshing, dry and almost a bit champagne type cider.

750mL bottle, pours a clear golden wit a very quickly-dissipating head. Nose is full of champagne-like effervescence, lots of brut yeast, and a touch of sweet apple skins. Flavour is bone dry, with lots of bone dry brut yeast, champagne-like effervescence, and crisp apple yeast. Lots of brut yeast and champagne mustiness. Complex and elegant. Lovely.

75cl bottle from trade with Taboada. Many thanks for this Alex! Pours a generally clear pale yellow. Aroma is fresh green apple, distant mirage-like lime. Light, thin, natural sparkle, delicate sweet apple, green apple, lime, perry pear, distant vanilla.. quite light yet presenting interesting, light, subtle fruity nuances as it settles, even introducing a very subtle white wine feel on the finish. Great example of a more restrained, mature Spanish sidra.

Bottle at Cider Salon, 2018. Bright golden colour, white foam head that quickly dissipates away to a thin rim, and fruity apple aroma. Taste is fleshy apple, fruity, vinegary, with apple skin and some tannin. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish. Quite drinkable.

75cl bottle at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours brilliant yellow with practically no foam. Aroma is really weird and not pleasant. I don't like it. Body is somehow light with good sparkling character. Taste is moderately sweet, but also with something unpleasant in it. Definitely some sour. Finish is relatively long.
