Tap at the brewpub. Beer in the glass dark orange, nice head. Intense malty alcoholic aroma. Starts intense malty, boozy, alcoholic. Sweetish background. Way too much alcohol, not much other notes. Dry alcoholic finish. Not my favourite...

Swing-top bottle, 0.50l, courtesy of CanCrusher, shared with Boštjan. Aroma of caramel, toasted malt, dried fruit and flowers. Pours clear amber brown color with thin creamy tan-like head and sparkling appearance. Lahev s patentním uzavěrem (Díky do Bodámského...): Hazy, copper coloured with a ruby sheen, medium-sized and very slowly collapsing off-white head; moderate to solid sweet nose of dried fruits and sweet caramel, vinous and woody traces underneath, herbal hops hardly detectable; solid sweet flavour, full bodied and pretty soft; sweet vinous/fruity finish with a slight alcohol-burn in the aftertaste. gekauft im Restaurant vor Ort, weil ich keine 1l-Flasche (so konnte man das Bier nach Hause mitnehmen) als Souvenir schleppen wollte und das eine Bier im Kühlraum nahm, das es in der 0,33l-Bügelflasche gab. Der erste Barleywine, der mich und meinen Bierkumpan Phiipp erfreuen konnte. Das mag daran liegen, dass er nicht so klebrig-malzig-süß war wie viele Amerikaner. Ein volles, starkes Biergetränk mit einem tiefgründigen, leicht fruchtigen Körper, der aber nicht brutal zuschlägt, sondern mit seinen ordentlichen Aromen die Zunge massiert. Echt nicht übel

Tap at the brewpub. Darker misty orange-amber body, laaaasting off white head. Elegant malt mixing with a vague phenol touch in the taste, turning towards orange. Elegant orange candy-malt taste, pure life, alcohol kicks for a second. Lean but as expected sweetish-lightly sticky in the finish. Alcohol is omnipresent but never invasive, which is a plus. A good, classy winter warmer.

Bottle. Amber color with white head. Aroma is kiwi, booze, malts, bready. Taste is kiwi jam, boozy, syrupy, caramel. Low carbonation, thick mouthfeel. Way too boozy.

Clear light brown. Aroma is citrus, melisse, caramel, hints of bandaid, plum wine, vanilla pudding. Taste is intense sweet with some phenols and grapes, spices. A bit too heavy and lots of alcohol warmth. Overall a bit too heavy. Murky with hints of paint thinner. Meh.

Bottle. Golden brown, offwhite lace. Light oxidized, iodine, light bandaid. Sweet light boozy start. Tropical fruit Schnaps - better at my local curry place. Medium full body, pleasant mouthfeel. Ok fruity finish.
