In the spirit of traditional Belgian brewing we’ve departed from style-constraints to bring you a fresh take on the popular European style, the Belgian Amber. This big, complex, amber-hued ale was brewed with a substantial amount of Belgian and European malts that complement the spiciness imparted by Belgian abbey yeast. The result is a perfect balance between rich, toasty maltiness, Belgian Candi sugar and the light, floral profile of European hops. Enjoy this hearty Belgian-inspired brew now or age at a cool temperature to increase its complexities.

Bottle shared at the Hackobock tasting at Craft Islington. Cheers! It pours lightly hazy red - orange - amber with a medium beige head. The aroma is soft, sweet, rich bready malts, orange muffin, candied peel and toffee. The taste is bitter - sweet, sticky, orange sponge cake, quite fruity (reminiscent of Irn Bru), wood, spice and warming alcohol with a warming finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. A touch rough around the edges. Not so bad, but not up to their usual level.

Bottle shared at CBC Angel - many thanks! Pours mostly clear amber with a foamy, off-white head. The nose holds well toasted bread, dried berries, toffee. Medium sweet flavour with a nip of alcohol, brown bread, berries, figs, caramel. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with a little boozy warmth, more dried and lightly leathery fruits, toasty bread, caramel. Enjoyable beer.

Bottle shared at the Craft beer Co tasting 24/11/2016. Many thanks . A mostly clear. Orange amber coloured pour with a lose off white head. Aroma is sweet unrefined sugars, apple, cinnamon, apple, nutty malts, little boozy. Flavour is composed of sweet malts, boozy, cakey malts, green apple. Palate is flabby, moderate carbonation. Disappointing.

Hazy orange to amber colour, medium sized yellowish head; aroma of floral honey notes, caramel, biscuit, pear and apple, as well as some earthy and spicy alcoholic notes; taste is the same with quite intensive alcoholic spiciness; great ale!

Bottle that I picked up from Beer Gonzo webshop, Earlsdon, Coventry consumed at dad’s house, Rawson Green, Kilburn, Derbyshire (shared with dad) Saturday 10th September 2016 I think the mistake here had been to lay this down in the fridge to chill down a little, the temperature was fine but laying down (my fault) had certainly kicked up the sediment, however I won’t mark it down for that. Other than being like a snowstorm paperweight this was amber or maybe copper in colour with an off-white head. Spicy throughout and very true to style, the alcohol well hidden here. A light hoppiness nice fruity and spicy bite, it’s very pleasant. A6 A4 T7 P5 Ov14 3.6
