DESCRIPTION

Fugitive is a Fruited Brut IPA, and a collaboration with Verdant Brewing Co.

It’s a big, bold beer. It’s been fermented way down low in true Brut style, then liberally dry-hopped with Nelson Sauvin and Vic Secret, before being brought right back up to life again with bucket-loads of passion fruit, mango, peach and pineapple puree.

Goes well with seafood tapas.

Featuring Adam, a Verdant honcho and a man on the run.

Can shared in London - cheers to Fergus. Pours bright hazy gold with a creamy white head. Super juicy, comically so, lots of fleshy magi, peach, apricot, minimal bitterness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. More straight juice I'm the finish, apricot, mango, papaya. Good fun.

Can at home, 01/01/19. Murky orange with a decent off white covering. Nose is bittrt orange, ripe melon, sweet malts, grape juice, dusty berries. Taste comprises tropical fruit smoothie with a bitter edge, white grape, mango pulp, grass, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with juicy hop bitterness allied to some grapeish tang. Passable for this sub genre but not for me.

Can sourced from Himmeriget, shared at home with the Mrs - fuzzy orange coloured pour with a white head. Sweet juicy fruity with notes of pineapple, mango, passionfruit, some peach coming in, medium body, pretty overt sweet start into the a drying finish.

Tap at Way Outback, Southbourne. Very hazy orange with a white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, tinned peach, citrus, orange and mango. Flavour goes a little wrong, heavy sugary sweetness with little bitterness behind. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

440ml can. Opaque orange with almost no head, looks like fruit juice. Aroma is like tropical fruit juice too (remember 5 Alive? Exactly like that), mango and pineapple stand out. Taste is unsurprisingly also like fruit juice, it's very sweet, mango, pineapple, peach, the finish is dry...ish, so many juicy fruits though, little traditional beer character to this but I'm really enjoying it. Medium body and carbonation. This will be divisive for sure. Certainly a very interesting interpretation of the brut IPA substyle.
