Cask @ Bookshop, Southampton. Extremely dark with a head. It has a very pleasant dark malt character with a modicum of sweetness and slips down the palate well.

Pours black with a small frothy beige head. The aroma is roasted and earthy, dark malts, light liquorice and earthy hop notes. A malty earthy taste, roasted malts, cocoa powder and earthy nutty flavours with a smooth bitter chocolate finish.

Draft: Poured a black with red edges, head is tan whispery. Aroma is rich roasted malts, licorice, hints toffee. Taste is a great mix of roasted malts, toffee, chocolate, super malty finish.

GBBF, 7th Aug 2019, cask half-pint. Black body, tanned topping. Strong coffee aroma and taste to this malty little number, light vanilla flavours if you dig deep enough.

Bottle at Silverback Alehouse, Winton. Black with a tan head. Aroma of roast, dark chocolate, caramel and dark malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

500 ml bottle. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is caramel malt, light chocolate, vanilla, some light dry coffee. The flavour is light sweet with a smooth, rich, roasty, light dry coffee, liqourice hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at the Great British Winter Beer Festival 2018, Norwich. Pours very dark brown with an average sized frothy beige head. Aroma of malts, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and moderate roasted coffee. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation.
