Eine Ode an das Malz – Genuss wie von einem anderen Stern: Die Malzstraße, das Wiener Lager von Brew Age.
Schon beim ersten Blick fällt die tiefgoldene, leicht rötliche Farbe des Bieres auf und stellt klar: Die Malzstraße ist kein 08/15 Massenbier.
Der Hauptakteur bei unserem Wiener Lager ist das Wiener Malz. Diese Malzsorte erzeugt einen komplexen aber angenehmen Körper mit Noten nach Biskuit. Die dezente Hopfenbittere sorgt für Balance und Erfrischung.
Und weil wir der Meinung sind, dass eine elegante Hopfenblume dem Bier die Krone aufsetzt, haben wir es mit feinstem Aromahopfen aus der Hallertau veredelt.

Bottle, well past mhd. Pretty amber, eggshell head. Light oxidized caramel malt aroma, grassy hops, some minerals. Medium light body, sparkly yet chewy. Lightfooted blend of hayish, caramel, fruity and rural malt notes, no old notes on the palate. Grassy hops to balance, a hint lime retronasal. A good broad malt base really helps when you age beers I found.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear deep golden with a small, white head. Sweet, malty nose. Medium body, fairly clean malts, slightly caramellish with a short, dry finish. Clean and easygoing. 070917

Tap. Hazy amber color with white head. Aroma is caramel, earthy, grainy, bready, a bit metallic. Taste is caramel, nutty, some herbal hopspice, bready yeasts. Silky mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Quite sweet, but alright.

Keg at Élesztö, Budapest. Hazy golden, mid sized head. Fruity doughy nose. Sweet with light-medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Dough and apples, low bitterness.

Wiedenski lager z wiednia w smaku przypomina srednie kellerbiery, prawie zero piany, metniste i bursztynowe w smaku zytnie swieze buleczki, opiekana skorka pieczywa pszenno-zytniego, no i tostowe zakonczenie. Goryczy prawie wogole, slodkosci takze nie za wiele, dominuja glownie chlebowe smaki.

330ml bottle. Hazy orange colour with a small off-white head. Aroma: malt and citrus fruit, orange, lemon, grainy. Taste: fruity malt, grains, some light earthy bitterness, caramel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, well balanced. Pleasant.

Many thanks to Werckmeister for this bottle! Best before 24.04.16. The beer starts malty with sourish hits. Fresh with red-malty hints. The mainpart is malty sourish with moderate bitterness. Moderate sweetish, round but not too deep.

Bottled 330ml. -Unclear orange/golden coloured, small white head, weak grainy touch in the nose. Sweetish malty, light grainy and touch of fruits with mild hops and caramer in rather dry finish. So-so.

Thanks Mladen! Shared with a ton of people. Clear golden body. Grainy aroma, vegetables, fresh, slightly sweet, seems young. Creamy, perfumey grainy taste, slightly herbal. Not amber. But still, OK lager. Just ok.

Etwas dumpfer, dann aber frisch bitterer und getreidiger Antrunk. Steigende Hopfigkeit, süffig, minimale Karamellnoten. Gut. 10/10/10/10/12/10
