Der findige Dipl.-Braumeister und selbst Whiskyliebhaber ließ mit einer Antwort nichtlange auf sich warten und braute als Weissbierspezialität zur Überraschung für die englischen Freunde eine „Whiskey-Weisse".
Die Spezialmischung aus Whiskey- und Weizenmalz verleiht diesem Weissbier eine angenehm torfig, rauchige Note wie sie nur in erlesenen Whiskeys in seiner edelsten Geschmacksvollendung zu finden ist. Ein exzellentes Getränk und eine besondere Gaumenfreude für Freunde eines einzigartigen, außergewöhnlichen Geschmacks.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a hazy, deep amber with a dense and creamy, beige head. Smoky nose - Bamberg style. Medium body, quite sweet, sweet and caramelly malts, now with the smokiness turning more peaty. Dry finish with a subtle bitterness. I would call it a Rauchweizen. 061225

0,5 l bottle from a local Hol´Ab! market. BB 09.01.2027. Now listed with 5,6% abv on the label. Murky copper in the glass, more than one finger light tanned head. Wheat, yeast, banana and a lot of smokey elements on the nose. Taste starts with wheat, yeast and orange, less banana. Hints of Whisky with fruity parts in the second row. Soft bitterness. Very smooth at the palate. Below average carbonation. I like this kind of stuff.

Hazy amber colour with light spicy taste note of wheat and yeast mild citrus and zesty note mild body and mild taste not much note of whisky thin and mild finish.

Bottle picked up from Bierothek, Regensburg and consumed at home Sunday 7th January 2024 cooking Venison with Juniper and White Wine. This is far more subtle than I expected, soft mouthfeel, pours hazy light amber with a white head that dropped quite quickly. A little sweetness, the maltiness and whisky malt are good and not in yer' face. Like this.

Murky dark amber/brown colour, beige foam. Nose of wheat, citrus, some light peaty notes. Taste is rather thin, unbalanced, tart, light smoky. Not very nice.

Bottle. Color: Murky orangish brown, tgin beige head. Aroma: Wheat, yeasty, subtle smoke / peat. Taste: Wheat malt, some yeast, caramel and subtle peated Whiskey notes. Very smooth mouthfeel. Medium body, below average carbonation. Moderate sweet, light bitterness. Nice but very subtle Whiskey twist.

Farblich klar ein dunkles Weizen. Eher wenig Hefe am Flaschenboden, Schaumentwicklung für ein Weizen vergleichsweise schwach. Geruch Fruchtkompott und Schnaps. Gekochte Früchte und eine alkoholige Note gibt es auch beim Trinken. Hin und wieder kommen tatsächlich auch Rauch- und Röstaromen durch. Aber alles ohne den Geschmack von Räucherspeck – das schottische Whiskeymalz (bei dem normalerweise Torf, statt Holz zur Räucherung verwendet wird) zeigt Wirkung. Interessant und sehr wohlschmeckend. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Zu viel Kohlensäure (wenn diese auch extrem feinperlig ist). Weicher würde die an sich sämige Konsistenz wesentlich besser rauskommen.
