When it gets colder outside, at HERRNBRÄU we brew a particularly rich wheat beer - the Schneewalzer. This top-fermented special beer is only made from fine raw materials such as the best caramel malt and is stored for an extra long time.

Bottle. Sweet banana, orange, clove and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy orange-brown color with large head. Sweet banana/toffee malt flavor initial followed by strong spiciness - clove, pepper, light nutmeg. Very spicy dunkelweizen but well balanced - no flavor dominates. Very nice.

(bottle) Cloudy, dark amber to brown colour with a big and beige frothy head. Slightly yeasty, moderately sweet and toasty wheaty aroma with distinctive berry-fruity notes and lighter phenolic spices. Sweet flavour with a tinge of sourness, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Toasty malty and wheaty taste with notes of berries, dried fruity and traces of chocolate/cacao; sweet and slightly sour fruity finish with well-embedded spicy notes. Good one ྐྵ.VIII.09).

Bottle (kindly delivered by joss!): Hazy, amber coloured, big fluffy beige head that rather quickly collapses; moderate toasty and fruity nose (dried black berries) moderate sweet-bitter, also slightly sourish flavour, medium bodied, quite soft MF; lingering fruity-sourish, but also toasty-malty finish. Good, well rounded and aromatic.........

bottle, bought in the Hallertau. Hazy brown colour, large and persistent beige head, quite fluffy. Fruity nose with ahint of chocolate. Full-bodied, malty with hints of caramel, liquorice and citrus fruit, shy hints of banana. Nice!

Bottle from the Dodgy Deli, Cowley Road, Oxford. Had this 05-01-08 white bubbly very large head wheat and banana on the nose and also found themselves to be quite high up on the flavour front. Not sure why this is called winter-weisse as there was nothing about it that would differentiate itself from any other wheat, still I rather liked it and it went down very well.
