Deep dark brown coloured body with a crisp amber glow and some copper tints and a very fast-dying tan head. Aroma of grain, light toasted malts, some caramelised sugars, a dash of light metallic astringency and a touch of apples and pears for the added sweetness. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong rich malty flavours show at first with a very light grainy element along with a dash of the fruits, but the caramelised sugars and toffee show especially strong at the end. Aftertaste shows some light grain, apples, pears, toffee and a little bit of the metallic notes, but those are fairly mild - this is quite easy-drinking and simplistic. Overall, a pretty nice marzen without many deep flavours or pungency, but a good level of sweetness and fruity notes that outweigh the astringency and strong flavours from the malts. I sampled this 50 cL can, as Day #20's can from the 2020 Costco Advent Calendar, purchased from Costco in Arlington(Pentagon City), Virginia and sampled in my hotel room here in New York, New York on 20-December-2020.

Nutty toffee malt and fresh hay aroma. Amber with moderate off-white head. Moderately sweet creamy nutty toffee malt, and mildly bitter fresh hay. Great body and balance. A superb Maerzen.

500 ml can purchased as part of the 2020 Costco Advent Calendar at the Costco in Overland Park, Kansas. Exp 2022/05 printed on the bottom of the can. The pour is a clear copper golden with a foamy egg-white one inch white head. The aroma is bread, toast, malt caramel sweetness and a touch of floral. The taste is floral, sweet caramel, grain and the bready toastiness of the nose in the back. The palate is medium to light bodied, fine carbonation and the toast clean finish. Solid Märzen.

500ml can from an Advent Calendar, drank in California on 14th Dec 2019. Copper bronze body, wispy head after an initial excitement of bubbles. Toffee aroma from the malty molasses that also rule the fairly sweet taste. A little 'one dimensional', but my sweet tooth took to it.

Bottle. Golden color. Malty slightly herbal dusty aroma. Malty sweetish, soft herbal flavor with a hint of apple. Fairly low on carbon. Not the best in class.
