Bottled 05/Sept/2019. Dark purplish brown, little bit of unstable purple head. Smells great vinous, currents, bourbon. Firm body, some good carbonation, chewey, some pucker. Taste is dry sour, bags of wine, wood, currants. More wine than beer, but nice.

337mL bottled Sep 5, 2019, drunk at Fort Point, 11/8/21. Good clarity in this magenta-violet-cranberry liquid. Beige-pink head is fairly short-lived. Nice and easygoing at this age, with nothing punchy jumping out. The grape acid has softened along with the black currants. Barrel aging adds spice, mineral, herb but also does not come close to overpowering. Very impressive for this size and not boozy/hot in the least. Tons of candied dark fruits with dry caramel and touches of licorice, pepper and pinot noir. Soft and malty with a long finish of complex barrel notes of spice, bourbon, grape and heavy mineral. Sweet honey doesn't crowd but gently balances alongside caramel and toffee. All the while the souring acids keep the beer very balanced and leaning to the tart side of things. No boozy, but certainly still a hefty beer that demands you take your time with it.

Panda at home, thanks to the Wingmane, 23/01/21. Deep deep claret, veering purple, topped with a thin crimson cap. Taste comprises tangy berries, wine barrel, funk, berry compote, blackcurrant yoghurt, mellow acidic ripple, damp oak, vinous twang. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, light drying close with a balanced puckering climax. Solid flavoursome sour ... weighs in well below the stated ABV.
