From tap. Pours hazy orange with a creamy slight off-white head. Light malty to slight and bitterhops aroma. Light smoked and bitter flavoured. Fresh and slight fruity with a lingering. Lingering dry smoked finish with a mild meaty touch.

(Draught, unfiltered, by gravity at Akkurat, Stockholm) Dark amber colour with frothy off-white head. Malty nose with notes of dark fruit and slightly buttery hints. Malty, nutty taste with dark fruit, dark rye bread and balanced bitterness in the finish. Balanced and tasty, but leaning in the modest direction.

Cask (Bayerische Anstich) at Akkurat, Stockholm. Pale amber. Vaguely smokey nose. Medium sweet with some butter and toffee. Soft and gentle with a low amount but easily detectableamount of beechwood smoke. Fairly low bitterness. A well balanced, malty and enjoyable beer.

(bottle) Hazy orange-amber colour with a mid-sized, slightly off-white foam. Moderately smoke-malty aroma, also a bit toasty with shy fruity notes. Light-sweet flavour, medium to light body, soft carbonation. Distinctive smoke-malty, peaty taste with a dense fruity undertone; medium-dry, slightly bitter and smoky finish. Likeable smoked Zwickel.

Bottle: slightly hazy, copper to amber coloured, creamy off-white foam, slowly diminishing; sweetish malty, a bit grainy and also caramelly nose with a distinctive touch of smoke and a faint illusion of aromatic hops, too; mild, bitter sweet and smoky flavour; lingering bitter-aromatic, demi-sec finish with a faint smokey feeling. A very good, gentle smoked Lager...........

Zu Beginn ein wenig nach Schinken, ein herber Beigeschmack mischt sich im Nachgeschmack dazu. Das ganze ist gebettet in viel zu viel Kohlensäure.

Cloudy beige; smokey, with good pale malt character. The smoke is so smooth, the pale malts providing a great foundation; dry finish. This was the second smokey pale lager I had at the GBBF and I am impressed with the style.
