Thornbridge’s first ever Nitro beer is here! Ena is a smooth milk stout, brewed with an array of roasted malts and oats to give a beer full of rich coffee, chocolate and toasted flavours. Lactose, an unfermentable milk sugar, is added to the boil to balance the complex grain bill and give the finished beer a luxurious finish.

Kings Arms. Cask. Clear deep red - brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth light palate, fairly dry, very mild carbonation. Sweetish mellow dark malts, trace of creamy sweetness. Whisper of berry fruits. Slightly tangy finish brings very mild coffee and chocolate. Very mellow.

Tap. Stag’s Head, Sharrow, Sheffield. Clear, dark, chestnut brown. Beige, nitro head. Nose has milky coffee. Bitter malts. Dark chocolate. A little nutty and vinous. Taste is fairly sweet, with a roast malt bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Light to medium body. Vinous finish. Would have preferred this on cask probably, as this was way too cold to start, but it still went down very easy.

Keg at the Salisbury Arms. It looked great in the glass with a lovely creamy white head on top of the black beer. The taste was all burnt malts and it was very good. I am sure that some would criticise it as being one dimensional, but I think that is the point; it showcases all that gorgeous malt. The mouthfeel was superb and it was the standout beer of the evening. I should have had more.
