Draft: Poured a deep black with a light brown head. Aroma is chocolate, malty, roasty, light coffee. Taste is rich roasted malts, chocolate, I thought coffee but molasses might be closer in the flavor, dry finish.

12 ounce can, 8/27/22. No clue where this came from. Near black, medium tan head, average retention. Aroma of roast, chocolate. Taste is roast, chocolate, lactic twang. Well balanced, quite tasty. Nice stout.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thick, frothy but super fast-dying light brown head that jumps out of the can immediately and fades to just a thin layer after just a few seconds. Aroma of super roasted malts with some vanilla, molasses, cream, lactose, milk, yeast, bread and a bit more of the oaty notes with the roasted quality, but the milk and lactose is pungent in the nose, for sure. Light to Medium-bodied; Very creamy and lactosey notes start up front with some noticeable sugars from the molasses and pitted fruits with some caramel as well, but the roasted oats and vanilla are here as well, but perhaps not as strong. Aftertaste shows some sweet notes, with a lot of vanilla, cream and icing sugar that shows a lot of pungency of the bitterness and malts as well with some robust, fairly heavy-drinking roasted notes of oatmeal coming out towards the end. Overall, a pretty nice and robust, deep and full-drinking beer that hits the stout/export category nicely and despite the frothy, bubbly look up front, the rest works out pretty nicely! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Giant Foods (grocery) in Alexandria (Potomac Yard), Virginia on 03-June-2021 for US$1,99 sampled just over a year later at my house here in Washington on 10-July-2022.

12oz can pours an opaque black with some lacey, creamy beige head. Nose has malt, toast, marzipan, some black licorice, some dark cacao. Flavor is very malt forward but also on for the style, some oats lurking, some smoke, some molasses, marzipan. Full bodied, creamy finish but relatively easy to drink.

12oz can from Total Wine. Near black pour with a thick, light beige head, lacing. Roasted malt aroma, woody, earthy. Taste brings dryness to mix, woody, campfire notes.

Nice stout. Roast and some caramel. Pours black with decent head. I like the sharp roast vibe here. Good bitter end. Nice drinking. Tap at brewery.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured almost black with orange highlights and a medium sized foamy tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was woody, dry and a bit roasty. The flavor was bitter and roasty with notes of beech wood, smoke and a bit of red meat. Very long wood and red meat finish. Medium body.
