A coworker was kind enough to bring me this back from the UK. Westerham Brewery Kentish Pale Ale 4% Orange color with off-white soapy foam that leaves nice Belgian lacing. Sweet malty aroma. The taste has herbal notes that on first taste I thought evoked fresh hops. Further dips give tobacco, honeyed malts and a touch of acrid ashiness. I think I also get some diacetyl. To me this feels very English, it feels like it’d shine more on cask.

500ml bottle from a National Trust shop in Devon: BBE April 2022. Drank on 5th October 2021 after driving home from watching Grimsby Town win 3-2 at Altrincham. Clean and clear amber body, thin white head. Hop bitter with a slight twiggy and fruity trace in both the aroma and taste. A little on the 'watery side' in body depth, luckily the bitterness overcomes that short coming.
