Brewed with speciality malts and Goldings hops giving raisin and biscuit notes with a treacle aroma, Muckle Bari brown ale is a mighty good Northumberland beer.

Bottle from Northumbrian Gifts. Pours a murky light brown with big beige foam - took a while to settle into a slightly scummy top .Aroma of caramel, raisins, nuts, dust. Taste of biscuit, raisins, plums, nice fruitiness, dusty and earthy hopping. Quite good.

21/6/2021. Bottle from CentrAle, Newcastle. Shared with SHIG and Dana at the Suffolk Solstice beer share. Pours clear dark amber brown with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma of boozy raisins, malt, caramel, biscuit. Medium sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Nice, best I've had from Muckle.

500ml bottle: BB 2nd Feb 2021. Poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard at home on 11th Sep 2020. Smooth foam head, beige in colour, the body a deep mahogany brown. Light malty front to the aroma, dark fruits and mild molasses. Taste has a malty feel, some dark fruitiness like the nose and chocolate hints.

Bottle from the Northumberland Beer Box. Aroma is down low. Coffee and molasses. Opaque cola brown. Bubbly beige head soon pretty much fades away. Light bitter with a tanginess to it and hints of sweetness. Coffee, liqourice, burnt caramel. Light-medium bodied. Watery. Fizzy carbonation. Dry slightly astringent finish. Wasn't too sure what to expect but decent stuff. Not the overly sweet beer I had feared it would be.
