Bottle from Aunty Eileen, with BBQ, 7th July 19. Pours a golden beer, lots of ugly carbonated floaters. Aroma is slight sour, malt, citrus. Taste is citrus, slight sour, some malts, it’s sharp, full of live flavour. ok

One if the best from the Islay ales. Bitter and malty with a nice grassy/earthy note (fuggles/EKG hops). I enjoy it, nice light ale.

Bottle. Yes, bitter indeed. Otherwise rather light with little hop and malt flavours. Okay.

Bitter from the Islay brewery, amber coloured, bit earthy and citrussy character, some grassy hops in the finish, dryish profile, slight hint of saltiness, thin mouthfeel. Rather bland, I had many a better ale in this style.

Draft at Craft Beer Rising 2014 - Brick Lane, London. Pours clear gold with a frothy, white head. This is a very shabby bitter. There are dominant notes of plastic and dirt. Light bodied with fine, soft carbonation. Abrasive plastic in the finish, some grassy bitterness, lightly sweet brown bread. Really not at all enjoyable. Poor.

Cask at Lochside bar, Islay. It pours deep amber with a small white head. The nose is earth, wood, faint spice and brown bread. The taste is earth, wood, leather, brown bread, light bitterness and a hint of pithy lemon with a dry finish. Fairly standard bitter, but fine to cleanse the palate between whiskies....
