A mid-brown coloured ale brewed with Pale Ale and Crystal malts. Bittered with Goldings hops and finished with Mount Hood and Styrian Goldings for a fruity, hoppy flavour.

50cl bottle from Gordon and MacPhail. Pours a honey colour with a nicely proportioned head. The nose has honey and medicinal herbs. The taste has more honey, a grassy, almost metallic dryness follows or dare I say it, seaweed. The palate has a medium body with a tangy middle and although there is good bitterness, the metallic thing is a little too much for me. Overall, I’ve had worse, but won’t be having another.

Clear golden colour, off-white head. Nose is citric, bit malty. Flavour is well malted, fairly bitter, citrus. A bit harsh. Fruity and dry finish.

Cask, Radical Road, Edinburgh. Amber and hazy. Loose head. Toasty, lightly fruity, complex aroma. Actually a bit strange - some toasty notes but also thin and grainy. Not terribly interesting. Fresh samples on Islay didn’t knock me out either.

Cask@GBBF2008. Deep amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is fruity, flowery and wooden. Flavour is malty, slightly grassy as well as earthy. Wellbalanced, but not very much surprises.

750ml bottle from Londis Westholme stores, Goring on Thames, Oxon 03-05-08 Hazy amber almost orangey in colour with a thin white head. Tangy, soft slightly sour tasting beer, bit fruity, nothing special.

(Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy, pale amber golden with a rough, off-white head leaving some lacework. Unclean aroma with a touch of citrus. Light in body with an excessive carbonation. Some weird Brettish accents without any real sourness. A little fruit and caramel but no bitterness. Interesting. 311007
