A pale, fruity ale, with a malty edge.

We are cacao growers in the West Indies, Saint Lucia, where magnificent mango and coconut shade our smaller cacao trees. Growing in harmony, we replicate that balance in a beer - bitter notes of cacao play off tropical fruit accents in hops to deliver a refreshingly original ale.

15/9/2022. Bottle shared by SHIG, cheers. Pours clear dark gold with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of citrus, stone fruits, melon, light cocoa, malt, yeast, slight perfumed edge. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Oily, average carbonation. It's okay.

Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 07/07/22. Clear golden to light amber with a decent lasting white cap. Nose is melon, light tropical fruits, soft malts, peach, subtle cocoa presence. Taste comprises airy malts, light perfume, cacao nibs, melon, tangerine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with mellow hop bitterness. Ok pale ... I was worried about the cocoa presence but all very subtle and well executed.

Thanks to my sis and bruv in law for this one. Bright clear gold beer, small off white head. Palate is light, mildly dry and has a good minerally crispness. Smooth malts, a light sweetness. A reasonable amount of citric hops for a beer of this style, mild but crisp pine and a touch of citric peel. The cocoa is well integrated. Very dark chocolate comes through on the very finish and leaves a mellow combo of bitterness from the citric peel and dark chocolate lingering on. A pleasant surprise. Thought this might be non descript but it's flavoursome and drinkable.

330ml bottle: BB Jul 2020. Poured into a chalice at home on 12th Oct 2019. Clear and clean amber body, wispy head that soon turn into a flat nothing (not good). Chocolate esters in the nose, taste holds hope of some chocolate but orchard fruits rule the taste really. A disappointment to be honest.
