Brewed to support Yorkshire Wildlife Trust this recipe contains bog myrtle (Myrica gale) an ingredient used in beer in medieval times. The characteristics of a wheat beer perfectly complement the gingery herb-like qualities of this remarkable plant.

500ml bottle from the brewery, drank at home on 18th June 2018. Poured slowly into a UK pint sleeve, clear light golden body, snow white crown on top. Not a lot happening aroma wise, some grain like notes maybe. Taste also hanging back in strong flavours, pleasant enough if a little subtle overall.

Leeds Beer Festival 2016. Golden ale with a hopped sweetness, it doesn’t really taste like a wheat ale, but has a pleasant and easy-drinking texture with a mild fruitiness.

Almost clear gold beer, small white head. Palate starts smooth, turning crispy from good fine carbonation. Light thin creamy malt. Big herby floralness, but never overwhelming. Whisper of mint. Light hop bitterness as it reaches a smooth finish. Interesting beer!
