2/11/2019. Bottle from Warwick Real Ale, Warwick. Pours clear amber bronze with a large foamy off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, hops, caramel, biscuit and fruit. Medium plus sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, above average carbonation. Too fizzy but pretty good otherwise.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Drapers' Arms, Bristol 2/4/2018.Near black with a slight, off-white, head and reddish undertones. A pleasant porter , with some dark berries, toasty malts, and sight tanginess leading to a moderately dry finish. Good.

24th March 2018, hand-pulled half-pint at the brewery tap.Off-white crown on the dark body, almost black in fact. Malts all the way here, mild red/dark fruit esters in with the malty nose, taste is roasted toasted maltiness with a slight bitterness in the finish. Nice!

Cask, gravity at The Bailiffs Tap, Banbury, Oxon, Saturday 30th September 2017 Pours dark brown, heading towards black with a slim bubbly off white head. A little ash and with a pronounced roast edge, quite assertive but perhaps moreish in a traditional mould. A little dark fruit, tangy but tasty, it's fine and in very good condition.
