Cask@The Parrot, Canterbury
Clear amber color, small white head. Honeyish, riped fruity nose. Light-bodied. Some honeyish notes, peach then leafy earthy hops, but this is not very bitter. Watery aftertaste. As lame as England’s game in EURO2016.

19th June 2016: hand-pulled pint in The Wrekin, Wellington Shropshire. Tired pint, mini-haze to the golden pour, weak head. Mild hop lead in both the nose and taste, but fairly bland all round: not impressed (should have taken it back really). Scored objectively.

Handpull cask at Ye Olde Dolphin Inne, Derby. Rebadged as Yard No. 18 The Classic 4-4-2 but sounds like the same beer (10 hops and all that). Bright gold with a soapy white head and lots of lacing. Grassy floral hop with some sour yeast and an indefinable industrial smell. Taste confirms that it’s a competent but boring beer. Bittersweet with a touch of sulphur and more floral hop on the shortish finish. How very macro. But it is drinkable, even enjoyable.

Cask handpull at The George, Egerton, Kent. My god, a Sheps beer with hops!!! Good fullness in the body and good hop bitterness and sting on the finish. I would have stayed for another but I had pubs to visit.

28th June 2010. On tap at the Sun Inn, Kelvedon, Essex. Clear amber beer, little white head. Dry palate. Reasonably well balanced. Light malt. Repressed orange and pineapple in the hop. It’s really not that hoppy considering 10 varieties went in! Finishes a little over dry with some bubblegum and honey tones. Seriously - where are the 10 hops? More lost that Wayne Rooney in a world cup game!
