9th Feb 2016: 500ml bottle in the Butlers Retreat, Epping Forest. Decent light ale, orange to gold in colour with a full white head. Mildly malty front with a mini citrus fruitiness in the flavour, weak aroma but overall an easy lunchtime drinking beer, which is when I had my bottle.

Bottle at the Mr. Lawrence Wine Bar - Brockley, London. Beer badged as ’Pitfield Mr. Lawrence Light Ale’. Pours clear gold with a big, white foam head. Doughy malts in the nose with hints of lemon and light hay. Light sweet flavor with dry hay, dry dough, fine bitterness. Light in body with way, way too carbonated. Clean on the finish with mild dough, hints of white sugar and white bread. Pleasant enough though not an especially well-constructed beer.

Bottled as ’Mr Lawrence Light Ale’ from the off licence of the same name. Orange pour with no head, this beer is on a low carb(onation) diet. Flatter than a bad Opera singer (or should that be fatter?). Aromas of orange peel and baked apple. Citrus and light malt flavour. Exceedingly dull!

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Bright clear gold beer. Suddy white head. Light dry palate. Trace of sulphur but nothing too bad. Mildly bitter orange and grapefruit hops. Just poky enough to be interesting. Dry finish. Ok.
