Ledbury Bitter is a traditional copper colour with a noticeably bitter start. Brewed with locally grown Admiral and Progress hops - both from Simon Parker at Instone Court. The late addition of the Progress hop provides an enjoyable finish with hints of spice.

(Cask at Cock Tavern, Hackney, London, 26 May 2018) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty nose with notes of caramel, toffee and dried fruit. Malty taste with caramel, dried apricots, toffee, dark fruit and a balanced earthy bitterness in the finish. Light body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well balanced bitter. Quite nice.

hand-pulled half-pint at the 24th Shrewsbury CAMRA Beer Festival on 6th Nob 2014. Copper hue to the amber body, thin white topping. Nose is light caramel/toffee and slightly fruity. Taste was again malty with toffee and caramel flavours tempered with some bittering hoppiness. Mini fruitiness mid taste with a bittering finish. Nice brew, but overshaddowed by stronger brews either side of it at the festival: a good session ale for the future, but not when on a mission like the day I tried it.

Cask hand pump at the Taproom - Islington. Pours clear gold with a filmy white head. The nose holds grains, ripening orange, a bit of dirty hay. Light-medium sweet flavor with more grainy bread, toasted sugars, faint apple, ripe orange, mild bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Balanced finish, yet more toasted grains, bread, mild dough, orange citrus. Solid bitter. Classical.
