Cask @ Wetherspoons, Milton Keynes. Light gold with a loose white head. Clear once it (eventually) settles. Fruity, hoppy aroma with mango and vanilla, as well as a slight acridness suggesting all is not quite as it should be. Initial taste is a light tropical fruit sweetness, disappearing into a sweet finish. Mouthfeel is weak, and the aftertaste is rife with acrid bitterness attacking the tongue and throat. Although it ends poorly it’s not all that bad for a World Cup theme beer.

Cask half-pint in the lovely ’Albert’ Llandudno on 11th June 2014. Golden body with an off-white head that produced plenty of lacing. Almost odourless, with just a mild floral hint from hop content. The taste had a slight malt lead with a dry hop finish. Fine on the hot day I tried this and one of Marston’s better creations of late, even if they forgot to add any aroma inducing ingredients.
