Can from Co-op, Hebden Bridge. Listed under Cains as the brewer when I had this, however as I was recently at their defunct red brick brewery it’s almost certainly brewed elsewhere now. Pale golden with no head. Standard supermarket stuff with a sticky sweetness to its texture.

440ml can from Scotmid. Pours clear pale gold, thin white head. Aromas of cereal grains and lemonade. Taste is light sweet. A beer obviously not troubled by the addition of hops. Astringent finish. Watery. Not good.

440ml Can: out of date by over two years. Given to me by my Son-in-Law as a joke, he found it at the back of a cupboard at his place the other day and dared me to drink it: big mistake. Poured into a Duvel glass just for giggles: it looked fine at first and could easily have been a Duvel, golden, bright and clean with a huge white head. The head however soon dissipated and once your nose got close the comparison stopped. The nose was grass and straw with a grain hint, not too shoddy for an old weak Lager, but certainly no Duvel. The next step was putting some in my mouth: this wasn’t so good, in fact there was no taste,it lacked everything, including taste. Some damp cardboard and a grain of barley mashed in a diluted water solution (is it possible to dilute water?) is the best I come up with for a description of the flavours I found. Obviously weak in the body: it’s only 2.5%. I know the can was old, but I wouldn’t even call this a ’lawn-mower beer’, it just failed on all fronts.

440ml can from my local Co-op. Watery, pale straw appearance with an over-enthusiastic white head, that rapidly falls back to a thin scum; sweet creeal grain aroma; watery, grainy, taste, with a toch f damp cardboard to finish. Best avoided.

Can from Co-op in Cheriton. Very pale gold clear fizzy and big white head. Wow that aroma took me back to being a teenager when i drank cheap shite pale lager. Aroma of lager shandy i mean a touch of lemon and some cardboard. No puke. A bit thin but not totally unpleasant. Some bad staleness on the swallow. Not good
